During 1977 and 1981, Peter was sponsored by Suzuki to race powerboats and became the only race driver to have ever won each of the three state titles of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria in two consecutive years - 1978 and 1979.
In 1979, he won the Australian Titles and was NSW speed record holder for three years, as well as the Bridge to Bridge race twice.
